Twins are doing well

Landon is still doing great on the nose cpap. The doctors are impressed that they haven’t had to reintubate him (which would be pretty typical if they had to). He’s still getting small amounts of milk, although he hasn’t pooped yet so they’re keeping an eye on it (fun job for whoever has to do that)! If things keep going as well as they are for him, we may get to start holding him (Kangaroo Care) as early as next week.

We’re pretty sure Lissy is really impressing the doctors. Today they tested a valve in her heart which is almost always problematic for babies as small as her. Hers looks normal for now. This was one of the last hurdles for her before they start to try and give her milk too. There’s still quite a bit of other things going on with her and we have another big test for both her and Landon tomorrow. So we’ll be anxiously waiting for those results.

    strength! Love U all. omiGG

  2. Sarah, how I feel with you – how I wished I could tell you all will be allright, which of course I can\’t – but I do have the feeling that it will. I hope that physically you are feeling better, gathering strenth for later…. Love omi

  3. – I know we\’ve never met, but your grandmother Eva may have told you that we had a baby 13 1/2 years ago who weighed in at 1 lb.,11 ozs. at birth. At that time we wondered if he would ever breathe on his own or be able to suck from a bottle. Now we wonder if he\’ll ever let go of his play station control or pay attention to his math teacher…These preemies are incredible little fighters. They teach us all about what we are capable of. Congratulations on your two little miracles.

  4. We think of you and your babies and pray for them. We are so proud of you two; how helpful and suppotive Jason is of Sarah and his babies. Sarah I can tell you are such a concerned caring Mother. Jason I think your right, Lissy will have words with her brother, Landon. I have a friend who is an identical twin who is 70 years old and only weighed 2 pounds to her sisters 4 pounds. She is petite but very healthy. My twin sister wanted the web sight and is praying for them too. Tomorrow Sarah and I are going to babysit her friend Deb\’s boy and girl twins 14 monthes old. They were born at 32 weeks and were on venalators for a month. YOur twins are real fighters. Larry thinks his Dad had a real strong will to live; they must have some of that Jellin grit. Take care love Aunt Karlene and Uncle Larry
